This book is crazy good!! It's been awhile since I've read a book by this author. I was super excited to read this one. Then add seeing that hot cover and I was ready to be All in. I defiantly got engrossed into it very quickly. There's so many things I liked about it right away 1) It's a fighter book 2) Second Chance romance 3) Well, that's a surprise I don't want to spoil. Second- chance romances are a favorite of mine and Ruin is now up high on my list.Zeus is the man!! He is something special. He's a man that made a mistake, but owns it and fights to make it right. He doesn't make excuses. He loves his Dove (Cam) with his whole heart, and everything he does shows that. What I'm trying to say is I fell so hard for Zeus. He was so easy to like and admire. Zeus is a fighter. He breaks up with his childhood sweetheart, Cameron (Cam) to focus on fighting. He has always wondered what would have been and thought about her often. He didn't realize how much, he actually regretted that decision until five years later when he runs into her. From then on he tries to win her back.
Cam has alway wanted two things: to be a ballerina and to have Zeus. Things didn't turn out like she planned. Zeus left her heartbroken. She tries to move on with her life the best she can. One night while at work she runs into Zeus, and all she can remember is the hurt that he left her with five years prior. She doesn't make things easy for him at all and tries her best to stay away from him.
I'm very satisfied with how Mrs. Towle made Cam's character a strong woman. She showcased how clearly broken and hurt Zeus left her. I also loved how Cam didn't just give in. She made Zeus fight the hardest fight of his life.
This book made me want to cheer for the characters, hurt with them and fight for them. Days after reading this book I would catch myself day dreaming about Zeus and Cam's love story! Did I say how much I love Zeus? I LOVE him!!

I am a fan of Samantha Towle’s writing but I have to say this book was a bit disappointing for me. Maybe I started it with too high expectations, because I usually love a second chance romance and on top of that the guy is a fighter, so double yum. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations.
The book started with a prologue from Zeus POV and I was immediately intrigued. It fooled me to believe it will be a dual POV story. However, after that the whole book continued in Cam’s POV and I have to tell you she might be one of the most annoying and inconsistent female character I’ve ever read. She is hot one minute and cold the next, she hates Zeus, but then suddenly she can’t live without him. She is pissed at him for leaving her and she claims she can’t trust him, but because the whole misunderstanding wasn’t his fault she is ready to forgive him. And this goes on and on for more than 70% of the book. I get that she may feel insecure in her feelings, she might fear getting back together with him, but you can’t want him one minute and then after a hot scene, you suddenly realize you want him out of your life. Get a grip and make up your damn mind.
The only thing that I loved about this book was Zeus character. He was persistent and clear what he wanted. I wish there were chapters from his POV so I could hear his voice and his thoughts though. The guy was groveling all the time but Cam kept finding things to complain about. She just drove me insane with her whiny attitude. Her character pissed me off to no extend. For a woman of her age and life experience she was acting like a child. Not my type of a female lead at all.
And don’t let me start on (view spoiler)
There was no actual story in the book for me. I was truly expecting so much more. I don’t think I’ll remember anything from it in a month, except maybe how annoying the lead female was. The plot was predictable and some dialogues and even internal monologues seemed like they were repeated over and over.
The highlight for me in this story was at the final fight when I read that the opponent of our MC is from Bulgaria and his name is Roman Dimitrov. This made me smile, cause I happen to be from Bulgaria and although the family name is spot on, the first name is not a usual name in here, not at all. I was expecting more from this fight to be honest, more action, more drama, but it ended the way it started. With nothing memorable or exciting.
So in general this was a nice book to kill the time, but don’t expect anything spectacular in terms of plot, characters depth or writing.
